Volunteer - Macomb County Winter Shelter
Macomb County Winter Shelter Volunteer
The goal of the Macomb County Winter Shelter is to provide shelter from the cold winter and nourishing food to eat for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. The shelter will open on December 29, 2025. The shelter hours are 7 pm - 8 am, Sunday - Saturday.
- Guests must be at least 18 years of age, independent, and ambulatory.
- The safety of our guests, staff, and volunteers is very important so we will provide professional security guards onsite during all operational hours.
Volunteers are the foundation of our program.
- We need 10 -12 volunteers daily to provide our guests the necessary services.
- Host churches will provide most of the volunteers but we still need additional volunteers to assist the churches.
- There are a variety of assignments and responsibilities.
- They include assistance with intake, line management, serving a nightly dinner, routine cleaning, bag check-in, and directing guests to their assigned cots, bathrooms, etc.
We can really use your help! You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer. Take a look at the schedule and roles and sign up today!
Thank You for helping make this program successful!
